Gemma Vincent, welfare officer at Cavendish School

Gemma is our welfare and customer liaison officer. She has been working at Cavendish School of English since January 2018. She helps all our students, especially junior students, making sure that they are all feeling fine, getting the best possible education and enjoying their time in our school. “I really enjoy meeting students from all over the world and learning about their culture and way of life at home.”

What is the funniest thing that has happened to you at the school?

When one of our German buses left school with one of our staff members still on board (she was saying goodbye to one of the groups)! The driver did of course let her off but it was very funny.

In your opinion, what is the best way of learning English?

Talk as much as you can, engage in conversation, talk to our staff, your host families, ask questions and make the absolute most of your experience.

Tell us three things you would take on a desert island…

A good book, water and my dressing gown

Three famous people (dead or alive) I would invite to a dinner party are…

Bob Marley, John Lennon and Amy Winehouse

If you could be an animal, which one would you choose and why?

A butterfly, so I can flutter around and be free.

Your favourite word is…

Phenomenal! It’s just a cool word!
